Dr. David Ma
Dr. David Ma is a skilled general surgeon specializing in colon and rectal surgery. He trained in general surgery at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center and completed his colon and rectal surgery fellowship at Rutgers University – Robert Wood Johnson. A member of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons and the Massachusetts Medical Society, Dr. Ma actively contributes to the medical community and health care policy. His patient-centered approach ensures that individuals receive personalized care tailored to their unique needs.
Dr. Ma began his academic journey with a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University and earned his medical degree from the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He also holds a master’s in public health from Tufts University. As a postdoctoral research fellow at the Massachusetts General Hospital Center for Transplant Sciences, Dr. Ma investigated xenotransplantation with porcine kidneys and mechanisms of tolerance in kidney transplantation.
Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Ma has experience in teaching and mentoring and is dedicated to fostering the next generation of health care professionals and improving community health through education.
In his free time, Dr. Ma enjoys spending time with his niece and nephew as well as hiking, fitness, baking and gardening.
